Mini Album Reveal

Remember this post from a couple weeks ago?
Gettin scrappy! #CreatingwithKaraDavies #CTMH #PictureMyLife #BlackMiniAlbum #pocketscrapbooking #CTMHCreate
I couldn't post anything else at the time as I was making an album for my husband's Christmas present! Now that he's opened it and seen it, I can share just what I've been up to.

I used all ctmh products except for the ribbon (from my stash) for this project. The hardest part was choosing which pictures to use! This project took maaaaaaybe an hour from start to finish (once my photos were printed). That's pretty good for a gift album if you ask me!

Here's how I made this album.

I sorted through the photos my husband and I took during his Gold Coast Lego exhibition in September. I printed some as 4x6, and some as 3x4. I can get two 3x4s on a 4x6, so I had to trim them in half.
I chose the My Creations™ Black Mini Book as the base for this project.
I figured out which ones told the story of the weekend best, put them in chronological order, then added in a mix of 4x6 and 3x4 Picture My Life cards.
I journaled around the road image on this 4x6 Wanderful PML card. It makes the page a bit more fun to read!
I chose to trim down this photo and mount it on this 4x6 Chalk It Up PML card, then journaled around the image.
I didn't like the sentiment on this Seaside card so I covered it with black shimmer trim.
No journaling needed when I included this shot of the exhibit's description.
The group photo didn't blow up nicely to 4x6. It perfectly fit cropped down!
This is 2 cards layerd on top of eachother.
I used some super sticky double sided tape and ribbon from my stash to make the closure. I eyeballed it all.
A bit of trimming, journaling, embellishing, and voila. A mini album with a ribbon tie closure and a secret pocket in the back. I used some good double stick tape to adhere one of my gift card envelopes to the inside back cover. I stuck a Target gift card inside so my husband could go pick the Lego bits he wanted.
Opening on Christmas Day. The Lego themed gift card was a big hit. :)
Materials used: My Creations™ Black Mini Book, Chalk It Up, Wanderful, and Seaside Picture My Life™ Scrapbooking Programs, SureCut™ Deluxe Craft Paper Trimmer, Non-Stick Micro-Tip Scissors, Corner Rounder, 3L® E-Z Dots® Adhesive, Black Shimmer Trim, Durables Triangle Studs, and Marvy® Uchida® LePen™ Journaling Pen.

This is a great idea for quick gifts. Think gorgeous thank yous for your parents or bridal party after your wedding, a quick way to keep Nan and Pop updated on the littlies, easy memory books for family reunions, a cute little baby book for a new mum, easy mini Christmas album.... you name it!

Love this little idea? Want to make one for someone you love (or just for yourself)? You're in luck! I'm doing a Mini Album Workshop in February!
