Magical Blog Hop

Welcome to the Magical Blog Hop!
If you've landed here from Lauren Moore's CTMH Craftings, you're in the right place.

It's a Magical time here in my studio. I love this paper collection!
It's very Disney without being Disney, and this 80's child loves me some Disney! Soon as I saw this collection in Seasonal Expressions 2, I knew I had to get it. I love how bright and fun and versatile it is.
I saw this list on pinterest (because even I run out of ideas occasionally!) and poof, I had my layout title and an idea.

This is what I came up with!
Sing it with me now.... "Think of a wonderful thought, any merry little thought...."

I busted out a cutting template and cut out my circle for the LH page before fiddling with scraps and strips to come up with this layout (inspiration). You could trace around a diner plate and fussy cut with scissors if you wanted to recreate this. I haven't decided what photos to work with yet, I'll find something. I wanted to try stamping my letters around a shape and I think I did pretty well for a first go!

For stamping around a shape, it's best to place each letter individually on your page then once they are to your liking, press your block down on top, ink up, and stamp away. I live on the edge, I stamped directly onto a finished page! If you're not so bold, stamp on a scrap sheet and practice until you get the hang of it.

As I was stamping onto 2 patterned paper strips, I had to test which colors worked best. I simply cut 1" strips from the paper, and stamped with the 4 inks I had in mind. When I decided which inks I liked, I flipped the paper strips over, trimmed them, and used on the RH page.
Black, sapphire, cranberry, slate. I decided on sapphire for top paper and cranberry for bottom paper.

When I finished my layout, I hadn't quite scratched my crafty itch for the night. I decided to make this card for a newly engaged couple at church. I hope they like it.

Inside "May all your dreams come true".

I eyeballed the scraps I had leftover and made this up. (It's loosely based off one of the card designs in Magical WYW.) The love stamp perfectly matches the heart paper and the tone I was going for. I'll be adding this to my next cardmaking workshop!

That's all from my studio this time. Get out your Magical papers and see what you come up with!
