Creating with Kara Davies: New Kit

Yup, I'm back with more for the Week of New!

Today is the brand new Starter Cut Above® Card Kit. You'll see it on page 3 of our 2022-2023 Core Products Book.

The kit includes 6 preprinted card bases, 6 envelopes, 2 sheets of diecuts, and full color printed instructions.

I got this purely for shits and giggles. I wanted to try it and see how easy it was. I wanted to see how I could change it up and make things look more like my style of cardmaking. I got the Starter Kit and Starter Sentiments stampset as I already have ink, blocks, and cleaner on hand. If you want to get it all in one fell swoop, try the Starter Bundle!

Y'all, honies, you NEED to try this! As an experienced cardmaker, I found it very enjoyable to put this kit together in an evening (between dinner and catching up on Critical Role). Here's what I made!

This is all you need. The Starter Kit, block, ink, adhesive, and cleaner. I use spritz and scrubber.

The kit makes 2 each of 3 designs. These I did as directed.

You do not need a lot of space to craft. This is my 3.5' folding table I use.

I did each design as instructed, and for the second card I changed it up with extra goodies from my stash.

I used my LePens to enhance the balloon strings, toffee ink to edge the balloons and banner, and a different stampset. I really like it!

I sponged toffee ink on all pieces, used my LePens to color in parts of the card base grid, and some glitter gems for sparkle. I also changed it to landscape.

Yuuuuup, more toffee ink on this one too! I added some gold shimmer trim, glitter gems, and changed it to portrait.

With a few simple changes, it was easy to amp these up from "plain" to "ooooh I like what you did there"!

See? In my jammies, ready for bed, nearly out of isolation, and I made cards.

If I can do this with a somewhat fuzzy noggin, you can do it.
