Sketch 335 AHSC

Yep. Still using up these flowers! This is the first version I made using up scraps of Chelsea Gardens Paper* and Outdoor Denim Cardstock* plus random bits of bling from my stash.

Well..... I liked it so much I decided to turn it into a kit for my Card Buffet workshops! 😁

I used a piece of Into the Wild Paper* for the base mat of my card, then a strip of Chocolate Cardstock*, and a strip of White Daisy Cardstock for the top.

I made a dot with a black pen then I used New England Ivy, Fern, and Heather* Exclusive Inks to stamp the leaves and dots. You can see it where the New England Ivy leaves touch tips. Zoom in on the Fern leaves. I inked up my stamp and lightly ran it across the ink pad to get that scuffed look. Try it!

The leaves and dots come from the Blossom Cardmaking Stampset*.

The purple flower is from the A Budding Friendship Stampset*.

Years ago I stamped three full 12x12 sheets of White Daisy cardstock with these flowers in various inks and fussy cut them. They were in a small box and I unearthed them a while back. Gotta use em up! This card uses one stamped in Smokey Plum* and Black Exclusive Inks. It's attached using Foam Tape.

After placing the flower on the stamped strip, it needed something else to stand out. Time for the bags of bling! I picked some Silver Sequins and White Dots.

The bottom of the card looked a bit naked so I added the sentiment from I Adore You Stampset*.

To finish off the card, I stamped the backside and signed my name. The card simply isn't properly done until the backside is done!

I love the Stamped with Love Stampset* for the back of my cards.

It's no longer available so I also use the Angel Policy Stampset for the back of my cards.

To make this card, I used my stash of retired CTMH papers and stamps, plus my Basic Toolkit: (Versamat, Trimmer, Scissors, Ruler, Adhesive Runner, Foam Dots/Foam Tape, Stamping Starter Kit), White Card Value Pack, Exclusive Cardstocks, Angel Policy Stampset, Exclusive Inks. *Retired/discounted/WSL items.

Sketch 321 AHSC

This sketch is by far the most head scratching one I've come across. It took a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time before ANYTHING in my stash jumped out at me!

This is what happened on my table. Embossing, stamping, fussy cutting, foam dots, liquid glass, and a whole lotta ink!

All of this ink was smudged on by hand. No sponge, no dauber, nothing but my fingers. They were utterly dark for DAYS!

To make this card, I used my basic toolkit plus these materials. Click through to purchase. Basic Toolkit: (Versamat, Trimmer, Ruler, Adhesive Runner, Stamping Starter Kit, LePen, Scissors), White Card Value Pack, Carolina White Daisy and Kraft Cardstocks, Cloud Nine* Business Builder* and Angel Policy stampsets, Subway Tile Embossing Folder, Liquid Glass, Thin 3-D Foam Dots, Fern Twine*, Toffee Espresso Heather Charcoal and New England Ivy Exclusive Inks. *Retired/discounted/WSL items

It's Your Day to Sparkle CTMH Blog Hop

If you arrived here from Doris, welcome! Read on and hop around for heaps of inspiration.

This hop centers on our BEAUTIFUL new stamp of the month called It's Your Day to Sparkle (S1906). Look at all these different options!!!

S1906 It's Your Day to Sparkle
I got seriously shimmery while making this card! Thank you to Lyn Edwards for the gorgeous project. Each layer of the cake, cake plate, and flowers has been colored with a shimmer brush and ink pad. It started out as a "naked chocolate cake with vanilla icing and raspberry coulis" and turned into a "black forest torte"! 😂

Click to embiggen and really see the painted colors.
This cake stamp is quite large and requires our big 5"x6" block. (I used our previous 4"x5" block.) I stamped the cake and flower cluster in Stazon ink on White Daisy and let it dry. Once it was dry, out came all the shimmer brushes and inks! I'll show the brush and ink combinations down below.

To color with ink and shimmer brush, squeeze your inkpad into your lid several times. Open it up and use your shimmer brush to collect some of the lid ink and paint it onto your stamped cardstock. Note: this only works with waterbased dye inks.

As you need more ink, collect more from the lid and continue painting. When you are finished with that ink color, scribble off on some scratch paper until you see only the shimmer brush color. Squish your next ink into lid and keep going until your image is fully colored to your liking. Set aside to dry.

The chocolate cake layers are colored with Toffee ink and Gold shimmer brush.

Vanilla layers are Clear shimmer brush without ink.

Raspberry coulis layers and flowers are Pomegranate ink and Sugarplum shimmer brush.

Leaves are New England Ivy ink and Mint shimmer brush.

Cake plate is Bashful shimmer brush without ink, and cake stand is Gold shimmer brush without ink.

SO.
MUCH.
SHIMMER.

(My upline/mother-in-law has already stated several times that I'm to stash this one away for her birthday next year! "Ha!" is my response!)

Carefully cut around the cake and flower, attach to card as desired.

Classic Summer Bash SoTM Blog Hop

If you arrived here from Vandra's Virtual Craftroom, welcome. Join in and hop around!

This hop features our May Stamp of the Month: S1805 Classic Summer Bash. It's a set of 25, yes twenty five!, different images that are perfect for any crafting for your next backyard bash, party, drink recipe, or barbecue.
CTMH Australasian Blog Hop

Isn't it adorable? I decided to make this bright and bubbly card. I really like having another mason jar stamp and decided to use it on some dot vellum to create a jar. The straw is actually a zipstrip from Postcard Perfect! I was about to stamp one then saw this scrap and used it instead. The dots on the vellum looked like bubbles so I reinforced that idea with some gold gems. A few thin cut letters and tracing later and voila! Its definitely bound to cheer someone up. ;)
