Beary Christmas CTMH Australasian Blog Hop

Welcome to the CTMH Australasian Blog Hop!

If you arrived here from Doris Taylor's Creative Inspirations, by chance, or by pinterest, howdy!

This month, we've chosen to showcase Beary Christmas, our whimsical Christmas range.

I created this layout featuring the beautiful Beary Christmas poinsettia paper and the Christmas Paper Doll Thin Cuts Bundle. I plan on using it with pictures from my ladies Bible study upcoming Christmas party. The doll's dress is stamped in Glacier ink to pull out the glacier bits in the poinsettia paper. I used my watercolor paints and waterbrushes to paint her hair and body.

I made this page using a picture from Christmas 2016. This could easily be popped into a frame and switch out the photo each year, or put into an album as a title page.

With scraps leftover in my paper packet bag, I made these little gift card holders following instructions by sister consultant C. Woodward.
They're super easy and really quick to change up for different occasions. A gift card fits in just right. You could also put in a folded up gift voucher or cash (or cheques if you still use such).

To make these projects, I used the following products. Click through to purchase or contact your consultant! Trimmer, Versamat, Adhesive Runner, Glue Pen, Scissors, Ruler, Stamping Starter Kit, Beary Christmas Paper Packet & Coordinating Cardstock, White Daisy & Kraft Cardstock, Basics Cardstock, Gold Foil Paper, Archival Black Glacier Fern and Cranberry Exclusive Inks, Waterbrushes, Watercolor Paints, Christmas Paper Doll Thin Cuts Bundle, Christmas Thin Cuts (similar), Tree and Celebrate stampsets, Make It From Your Heart v1/v2/v3.

I'd love it if you'd leave a comment before heading over to Maz Wood's aMAZing Close To My Heart Creations. Share the love and pin my projects!

Thin Cuts Blog Hop

July is here and that's means it's time to showcase one of my favorite new products. Welcome to the Thin Cuts Australasian Blog Hop!

If you've arrived here from Shaunna Richards - Passionate About Pages you're in the right place. This is a circular hop so follow along and be inspired!

This month in the hop, we're featuring Thin Cuts, one of my favorite new products! As you know, the majority of our My Acrylix stampsets have a coordinating exclusive Cricut cut die cut shape. You can tell which stamps are Cricut compatible by the red outline or the Cricut collection name on the carrier sheet.
Frame Flair - Cricut® Art Philosophy Collection (Z1686) compatible.
CTMH realized however, not every crafter has or can afford a Cricut machine for their die cutting. Most crafters *do* have a Cuttlebug or BigShot. These hand cranked machines use thin metal dies to die cut various shapes. So, keeping up with the trends in the crafting world, the powers that be in our Head Office decided to release a series of stampsets that have coordinating Thin Cut die cuts. You can identify them by the blue outline and the coordinating Thin Cut range on the envelope.
A Bunch of Love - Thin Cut compatible.
I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!! No more fussy cutting tricky shapes by hand! I simply stamp my image onto my cardstock, layer up my Cuttlebug plates with cardstock and thin cut, and run through my machine. Voila! Perfectly cut shape that enhances my stamped images. You can see the entire range of Thin Cuts and coordinating stamps in my shop here.

A Bunch of Love is my current favorite stamp and thin cut set. I combined them with a few other products to create this name tag.
I designed it for our recent Scrapbook Queen Retreat. I taught 12 ladies how to make this on the Friday night before dinner and it was a big hit! Some painted, some colored, some left plain. Some added shimmer trim, sparkles, or other blingy bits to jazz it up. It's a really simple little project. The longest part was stamping the names!

Here's how I made them. I cut a sheet of watercolor cardstock into 4x12" strips before stamping the bouquet image and each lady's name with archival ink. I chose this mini alphabet stampset for the names as the letters *just barely* fit inside the banner area. I wasn't going to handwrite all the names! (Archival ink won't run when using watercolors.) When the ink was dry, I loaded up my Cuttlebug to die cut each bouquet from the strip. (There's NO WAY I would fussy cut 14 of these by hand!)

I saw this cute idea by sister consultant Shaunna Richards on instagram and thought "that'd be perfect for this project!" I stamped Scrapbook Queen (because we are the Queensland Queens of Scrapbooking!) on a rectangle scrap of watercolor cardstock and layered with Thistle cardstock, and dovetailed them together. If you don't know how to dovetail, ask your consultant to show you! I mounted the dovetailed bits and stuck together before I cut a slit with my trimmer for the thin cut to slip into. If you don't want to cut a slit, you don't have to.
I chose my favorite watercolor pencils and blended them with two waterbrushes and let it dry. The crown must be colored! You could use watercolor paints and paintbrushes if you prefer. I stuck the stems into the slit I cut and secured with some adhesive. A dab of liquid glass and a sliver of cardstock secures a safety pin to the back for wearing. That's it! A unique custom name tag that was made in minutes and worn all weekend. I added some clearance puffies to mine.
Now that camp is over, my tag pulls double duty as a page embellishment.

You can use this name tag idea for SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many different occasions. For your next women's group function, birthdays, family reunions, without safety pins as placecards for Christmas dinner, for bridal or baby showers, tea parties, corporate functions, any occasion really. Simply change the sentiment on the dovetail to suit! Prepare a bunch of them and have all your attendees color and embellish to their hearts content. It's a great icebreaker!

Switching gears a bit, I thought this stampset would look great on a card. So, one night I decided to play. I stamped a bunch of these bouquets and colored with my watercolor paints and waterbrushes.
I die cut them all with my thin cuts and made a stack of cards using the retired Happy Times paper packet. The floral papers blend beautifully with this stampset making for super easy coordinated crafting. I love how easy it is to make a card with such a pretty focal point!

Thin Cuts make for easy and quick crafting. It takes maybe a minute to ink up and stamp my paper, and run through my Cuttlebug with my thin cuts. Quick and easy = happy crafter! I nearly forgot to mention how they're stored! Each thin cut set comes on a nifty magnetic sheet, in a clear sealeable cellophane bag, inside one of our snap flap stamp envelopes. (If you have other dies on magnetic sheets, these envelopes are perfect for storing them.) This means when packaged they are the same size as our stampsets making storage easy in my large organizers. Perfect!

Thin Cuts and matching stampsets are exclusive to CTMH and there is a selection to choose from. Simply pop over to my shop and search for thin cuts. You're sure to find a set that sparks your creativity!
