To color with ink and shimmer brush, squeeze your inkpad into your lid several times. Open it up and use your shimmer brush to collect some of the lid ink and paint it onto your stamped cardstock. Note: this only works with waterbased dye inks.
As you need more ink, collect more from the lid and continue painting. When you are finished with that ink color, scribble off on some scratch paper until you see only the shimmer brush color. Squish your next ink into lid and keep going until your image is fully colored to your liking. Set aside to dry.
The chocolate cake layers are colored with Toffee ink and Gold shimmer brush.
Vanilla layers are Clear shimmer brush without ink.
Raspberry coulis layers and flowers are Pomegranate ink and Sugarplum shimmer brush.
Leaves are New England Ivy ink and Mint shimmer brush.
Cake plate is Bashful shimmer brush without ink, and cake stand is Gold shimmer brush without ink.
SO.
MUCH.
SHIMMER.
(My upline/mother-in-law has already stated several times that I'm to stash this one away for her birthday next year! "Ha!" is my response!)
Carefully cut around the cake and flower, attach to card as desired.
