It's Your Day to Sparkle CTMH Blog Hop

If you arrived here from Doris, welcome! Read on and hop around for heaps of inspiration.

This hop centers on our BEAUTIFUL new stamp of the month called It's Your Day to Sparkle (S1906). Look at all these different options!!!

S1906 It's Your Day to Sparkle
I got seriously shimmery while making this card! Thank you to Lyn Edwards for the gorgeous project. Each layer of the cake, cake plate, and flowers has been colored with a shimmer brush and ink pad. It started out as a "naked chocolate cake with vanilla icing and raspberry coulis" and turned into a "black forest torte"! 😂

Click to embiggen and really see the painted colors.
This cake stamp is quite large and requires our big 5"x6" block. (I used our previous 4"x5" block.) I stamped the cake and flower cluster in Stazon ink on White Daisy and let it dry. Once it was dry, out came all the shimmer brushes and inks! I'll show the brush and ink combinations down below.

To color with ink and shimmer brush, squeeze your inkpad into your lid several times. Open it up and use your shimmer brush to collect some of the lid ink and paint it onto your stamped cardstock. Note: this only works with waterbased dye inks.

As you need more ink, collect more from the lid and continue painting. When you are finished with that ink color, scribble off on some scratch paper until you see only the shimmer brush color. Squish your next ink into lid and keep going until your image is fully colored to your liking. Set aside to dry.

The chocolate cake layers are colored with Toffee ink and Gold shimmer brush.

Vanilla layers are Clear shimmer brush without ink.

Raspberry coulis layers and flowers are Pomegranate ink and Sugarplum shimmer brush.

Leaves are New England Ivy ink and Mint shimmer brush.

Cake plate is Bashful shimmer brush without ink, and cake stand is Gold shimmer brush without ink.

SO.
MUCH.
SHIMMER.

(My upline/mother-in-law has already stated several times that I'm to stash this one away for her birthday next year! "Ha!" is my response!)

Carefully cut around the cake and flower, attach to card as desired.

Layout Contest 2019

I created this layout for the 2019 Convention Layout Competition. I picked the Something Fierce paper as it had shades of colors similar to the various uniforms I've worn as a volunteer. The various cut shapes were created by our range of Thin Cuts.

Thanks to my teammate Lorraine for the use of her set of Decorative Borders Thin Cuts!

I've volunteered for: 2018 Swimming Australia National Swimming Titles, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, 2018 Le Festival - Brisbane French Festival, 2018 Gold Coast 600 Supercars, 2019 Brisbane International - Australian Open Series.

To make these pages, I used my basic toolkit plus these materials. Click through to purchase. Basic Toolkit: (Versamat, Trimmer, Ruler, Adhesive Runner, Glue Pen, Stamping Starter Kit), Something Fierce Paper Packet and Complements, Espresso Black Lemon Saffron Charcoal and White Daisy cardstocks, Decorative Borders Basic Circles and Block Alphabet Thin Cuts, LePen, Mint Shimmer Brush, Gold Shimmer Trim, and Top Load Memory Protectors.

Documented CTMH Australasian Blog Hop

If you arrived here from Shaunna's Passionate About Pages, welcome.
If you landed here by chance, join in and hop around! This hop features our stunning Documented collection. I've never seen a paper suite like it.
This is my absolute favorite pack from Seasonal Expressions 2 and I am so sad to see it go at the end of the month!
Featured colors: Almond, Bashful, Blossom, Charcoal, Eggplant, Heather, Linen, New England Ivy, Nutmeg, Peacock, Saffron

I created this layout for my last Beginners Scrapbooking workshop from Seasonal Expressions 2. It uses some gold glitter to emphasize the yellow flowers in the paper.
I added the shimmer brush painted flowers after I took the full photo. It needed some oomph!

I'm really excited about how these cards came together. I'm planning out my Christmas Card workshops and they will be my featured designs.
The flowers reminded me of stars so I grabbed my star stamps and went to town. A little of this, a little of that, poof!

To make these projects, I used my basic toolkit plus these materials. Click through to purchase or contact your consultant. Basic Toolkit: (Versamat, Trimmer, Adhesive Runner, Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors, and Stamping Starter Kit), Documented Paper Packet and Coordinating Cardstock, Black Cardstock, White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack, Basic Stars and It's Your Day Thin Cuts, Documented Cardmaking Stamp + Thin Cuts, Gold Glitter Paper, Eggplant Canary Sea Glass and Peacock Exclusive Inks, Make It from Your Heart™ Volume 3, retired Christmas and Stamped with Love stampsets.

I'd love it if you'd leave a comment below and pin my projects before you pop over to Lauren Moore's CTMH Craftings.

For the love of crafting

If you arrived here from Doris Taylor's Creative Inspirations, welcome. Join in and hop around!

This hop features our stamp of the month, S1808 For the Love of Crafting. The mix of cheeky sentiments and images is one that makes me giggle.

At our recent consultant training and networking day, five of the six ladies at my lunch table won a prize in our lucky dip raffle. I won a roll of shimmer trim! By the end of the day, I had glitter everywhere aftter cutting a sheet of glitter paper for some workshop kits. I craft so hard I sweat glitter. ;) I had to use this layout for the day's photos.

It was a good day. My project debut went well, Vanessa rejoined my team, and 5 of the 6 of us at my lunch table won a prize. I got shimmer trim!
It was a warmer than normal winter day (to me). I was very glittery!
My shapes weren't dry enough to thin cut and attach to my page. The big flowers will be on the RH page peacock striped pieces. I have shimmer up to my elbows now.
Tone on tone stamping with Bashful ink made this strip pop.

To make these projects, I used my basic toolkit plus these materials. Click through to purchase or contact your consultant.
