2015 Update

Good evening all

2014 is nearly over and I'm getting a jump on planning out my 2015!

Here's how I'm structuring the next several months.

Each month will have a theme, and all my workshops will revolve around that theme. As the new Seasonal Expressions 1 & 2 become live, these themes may change around slightly.

1st Saturday of the month, I'm holding a scrapbooking WOTG event here in my studio. The fee is $60 and includes a full WOTG kit, use of my inks, full instructions, and afternoon tea.

Every Wednesday afternoon, I'm holding Scrap Your Stash events here in my studio. The fee is $10 and includes page kit, full instructions, and afternoon tea.

3rd Friday of the month, I'm holding cardmaking here. The fee is $15 and includes all materials needed, instructions, and afternoon tea.

Prepayment Required

October is coming to a close and that means that my November workshops and events are approaching their booking cut off dates.

Have a look at my November calendar and check the details of each event closely. For events that require prepayment, you must prepay by the deadline. At 7pm, I order all the supplies needed for that event. Please understand that I cannot accept late payments.

New project - mini album

I have stacks of Picture My Life™ cards here, just waiting to be used. On the suggestion of Monica Wihongi, I decided to try my hand at making mini albums from my stash of cards. here's what I came up with!

I made two mini albums using Skylark and Surf's Up Picture My Life™ kits, Non-Stick Micro-Tip Scissors, Gold Polka-Dot Washi Tape, Lagoon Houndstooth Washi Tape, Gold and Teal Shimmer Trims.

Making the albums was pretty easy. I chose a couple 4x6 and 3x4 cards, laid them out and figured out which order I liked best. I ripped off pieces of washi tape and used that to stick the cards all together. Once all the big cards were bound, I added the smaller cards to the mix. I lined up the gold washi tape dots and trimmed as needed. Some are pages in their own right, some are stuck down as embellishments or photo mats.

The Skylark version:

Front cover embellished with shimmer trim and a bronze dot.

Inside pages with a 3x4 card and more delicious shimmer trim.

Space to stick photos or to journal.

Pretty easy huh?

Back cover with a 3x4 card stuck down with washi tape.

The Surf's Up version.

Front cover embellished with a 3x4 card and gold shimmer trim.

Inside pages with lots of room to journal.

I might have to use this for our stop over in Hawaii photos.

I've already got plans for more of these mini albums. They make great quick memorable gifts! There are 8 Picture My Life™ kits, and 8 washi tape designs to choose from. Each Picture My Life™ kit contains 122 cards in a mix of 2 sizes. The options for customizing and personalizing your mini album is crazy fun. The sky's the limit!

What a productive afternoon here in my studio! My newest customer and I had a good time making our very own cute covered notebooks, complete with penloop, all housed in a repurposed DVD like case!

News Flash

I just wanted to remind you of some upcoming workshop dates - and then the news tonight from Close To My Heart is the release of their retiring products list, so I've attached that. With a new Ideas/Catalogue Book being released on 1 August, they've announced what will not be continuing. 

I've emailed it to those on my email list. If you're not on that list, let me know.

The list is sorted into product groups to make it easier for you to locate items of interest - you can see the products on my website. There will be new paper packs to replace the current selection but we don't know what they'll be yet!

Beginners Cardmaking

Today was so much fun. Thank you to Esther and her mum Cathy for coming!

We used quite a few products today to make our 3 cards. Two little 3x3 cards and one 4.25x5.5 sunburst card.

The sunburst techniqe is so versatile. I hadn't used Sarita for it until today. I'm quite pleased with our results!
