Brisbane Craft & Gift Fair - Wrap Up

We had a great time at Chandler Arena last fortnight with the Brisbane Craft & Gift Fair crew. Lots of new faces, a heap of familiar faces, and lots of good crafting inspiration everywhere you looked!

Friday afternoon, set up complete!

Saturday morning, before the doors open. We always get a group photo before we start each day.

I think we have enough goodies?

I taught how to create our Starter Card Kit from scratch each day.

Shirley demonstrated our range of inks, stencils, and blending tools twice each day. This card uses the Card Creativity collection, available WSL.

Et voila! Some of my finished demo samples from Saturday plus all the simple extras I used to put them together.

Sunday morning group shot before doors opened.

Back at it again, showing our Starter Card Kit.

It's super easy and enjoyable to whip these up in very little time!

Shirley's back and showing another aspect of the stencils range we carry.

Lorraine taught this card as our $5 mini class all weekend.

Jean digging out some hearts to go on the cards.

Jean had a lot of interest in our Naked Layouts, especially from one of our site neighbors across the aisle. Here's one finished layout!

Shirley taught us all again Sunday afternoon how to use these dragonfly stencils on a stamped image. This collection available WSL!

Is it even a craft fair without a group selfie!? I think not.

Doors shut at 3 and we were all packed up by 3:50.

Some of these boxes met the Great Recycling Bin In The Sky after we got home.

All packed up, guarding the site while the drivers brought cars to the loading dock. Hivis fluro is a must!

That's all from us for the 2022 Brisbane Craft and Gift Fair. Be sure to follow Quota Carindale for all the 2023 Craft and Gift Fair details as they happen.

Scrap Your Stash

Alright ladies. Time to fess up!

How many of you relate to this graphic?
{Source}
Like many scrappers and paper crafters, I've got a stash of papers just waiting to be used. It's time to stop hoarding and get using ladies! One of the mantras I've learned from Close To My Heart is "Consume, don't collect." That means use the papers that are currently available, not buy them and hold onto them for ages and have a huge stash that's just wasting space in your craft room. Use what you have ladies! We bought our supplies with every intention of using them, then we either forget about them or just hoard them. It is time to break that cycle!

Stuck for ideas of what to do with your hoard of papers and cardstocks and embellishments? I've got just the thing. I call it "Scrap Your Stash". Each Wednesday from 1-3pm, I teach a layout from one of Close To My Heart's various how to ideas books. I use the pile of papers in my stash and come up with some really neat and beautiful pages that I never would if I just sat and scrapped freehand.

Why not try out a Scrap Your Stash session? It's only 2 hours and $10. That includes full directions of a double page layout, assistance from me, advice, and nibblies. (Not bad for $10!) My next session is this Wednesday, October 29th from 1-3pm here in my studio. Come along, try it out, and see what you can do with just a lil inspiration. If, at the end of the session, it's just not for you? No worries.

Are you coming to my next Scrap Your Stash session? Contact me for location and directions.

I hope to see you this Wednesday!

Sparkly Update

I've just gotten my hands on all the new goodies needed to make up my sample for this workshop. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out!

Stand out from the crowd this year with this understated and elegant card. With a pre cut kit and just a lil bit of effort you can wow your friends and family when they open their card. You can say with pride, I made this!

Why go to the shops and choose from a mass-produced bland selection when you can do this yourself? It's so easy. Let me show you how!

This workshop is so simple and fun. Plus, there's absolutely NO CUTTING REQUIRED! That's right, the entire kit is pre cut and just waiting for you to add some flair with stamps and sparkles! It really doesn't get much easier. You can use the included baker's twine if you like, or save it for another project.

The subtle shine and shimmer of the embossed snowflake is just gorgeous.
This adorable stamp is from an exclusive Hostess Reward Stampset. You can get it only if you're a Hostess!
Such an easy twist on a ready made Cut Above kit. Some stamping, two bits of embossing, and some sparkles. So easy and so classy!

Lucky you, I've extended the booking cut off to 7pm September 24! You must get in ASAP to book your spot for this workshop!
