Scrap Your Stash - open workshop scrapbooking time. Try your hand at the 2 layouts I've selected or work on your own.

Scrap Your Stash: Picture My Life - try your hand at pocket scrapbooking with the Picture My Life range, then work on your own projects.

Base & Bling Buffet - try your hand at making a wearable craft in just a few minutes! Pick your chain, pendant, charms, and bling to create a beautiful bespoke piece of jewelry.

Card Buffets - Make up to 5 different cards in 2 hours, complete with nibblies. All card kits are pre cut and bagged for your convenience. You simply stamp and assemble following the sample card and instructions.

Cardmaking - make 10 cards from a set kit, some kit products you keep, some are communal use and stay in my studio.

Workshops Your Way - a combination scrapbooking, pocket scrapbooking, and cardmaking workshop split over 2 days using one full WYW kit plus a few extra supplies. You complete 3 traditional layouts, 2 pocket page layouts, and 6-9 cards.

New Operation Smile Fundraiser

We love supporting Operation Smile™ here at CTMH.

Operation Smile™ is a worldwide organization that provides free, life-changing surgery that repairs smiles and reshapes lives, one child at a time. Since 2008, Close To My Heart has provided support to change the lives of over 1,500 children and their families. Each surgery is rather quick, usually 30-40 minutes to change these little lives.

Last night, after a yummy team dinner at Miss India,  I had the privilege of attending a fabulous training and premiere night at Brisbane's Mercure Hotel.

During the evening, the Chief Communications Officer Monica Wihongi, shared more about her recent trip with Operation Smile™ to Chiapas, Mexico.

Monica and I have an annual selfie tradition, this is the start of our 3rd year!

On this same mission was the actress Kate Walsh (from Grey's Anatomy and other shows). Kate posted this video about her experience on this mission. Watch and see the utter joy on the parents faces as they see their child with their smiles repaired and lives improved!


Starting in September at my Mystery Scrapbooking workshop, it is my goal for my studio to raise $600 for Operation Smile by Christmas. That's enough to change two little lives for the better. You can find out more about this important work here.

There's many ways you can help support Operation Smile.
One way you can help is by purchasing a tshirt. $10 from each shirt goes straight to Operation Smile.

Why I do what I do

If you've been around here for any length of time, you'll know that I love love love scrapbooking! Absolutely love it!

I love me some traditional scrapbooking with MyReflections, pocket scrapbooking with PictureMyLife, and sometimes a bit of digital scrapbooking. Its an easy way to unleash my inner kid (with all the crayons and pretty paper and glue I can get my hands on) and also record the day to day stories of my life and my family. (If I don't do it, who will?)

Part of my job as wife and mama is to record our family stories. I am the keeper of my family's stories and history, a duty I take great pride and pleasure in! A duty that I love teaching others how to do through a variety of ways. Someday I'll be able to show our future children their big sister and big brother's albums. Someday my great grandkids can find out all about how I emigrated to Australia just by reading my albums.

Quick craft

My order arrived this morning. YAY!

First thing after getting my box open, I checked off the invoice and everything arrived. Double yay!

I've gone through all my new Picture My Life kits and have oohed and ahhhed over everything.

Now that I've had a good chance to handle and feel everything, I needed to get making.

First up, making a Base & Bling cuff bracelet. I chose this sticker image from the Journey style sheet.

Within minutes I had this bauble on my wrist. :) Isn't it cute?

Time to party

Good afternoon my lovelies! This is breaking news! My first ever Base and Bling fundraiser, benefiting a cause very close to my heart, SIDS & Kids Qld.

As a bereaved mother twice over, I have benefited greatly from the free grief counseling services provided by SIDS&Kids. They are a wonderful organization, making a real difference for grieving families. They run on donations, and every dollar helps keep their doors open another day.

For the months of May and June, with every $20 necklace sold in my studio, I'm donating $5 to SIDS&Kids.
