Oh Deer Blog Hop

Oh Deer, it's blog hop time again! Welcome to the Oh Deer blog hop.
If you landed here from Shaunna Richards' Passionate About Pages no worries, you're in the right place. If you landed here from somewhere else, welcome! Read on and follow the hop for heaps of inspiration!

Oh Deer! is the gorgeous winter woodland Christmas-themed paper packet from Holiday Expressions 2016. It's Christmassy without being over the top Christmassy! I love the woodland theme and how it can be used for more than just Christmas. Think winter holidays, trips to the snowfields, hiking trips, even seaside vacations! The collection centers around these 10 colors: Bamboo, Cocoa, Colonial White, Desert Sand, Fern, Juniper, Sea Glass, Slate, Whisper, White Daisy.
The patterns in this paper suite are absolutely beautiful and so versatile! It is my favorite Christmas paper packet ever!
I've made several projects now using this paper packet, including piles of cards! I whipped these two up using patterns from our Make It From Your Heart Volume 1 book. I'm sending these to people overseas and I think they'll love them!

This card is based on Pattern 27 and I used the wishes PictureMyLife card as the foundation. I had a gold glitter paper snowflake thin cut in my scrap bag and it fit perfectly! The gold dots are leftover from using the Gift Thin Cuts on another project. Using up scraps and leftover bits? Score.

This card is based on Pattern 30 and features a little bit of everything. Stamping, thin cuts, embossing, and shimmer brushing. Inside both cards I used the Very Merry stampset.

To make these projects, you'll need the following materials. Click through the links to purchase or contact your consultant. Products used: Oh Deer! Paper Packet, White Daisy and Chocolate Cardstocks, Gold Glitter Paper, White Card Value Pack, My Acrylix® Block Starter Kit, Glacier Fern Bamboo Exclusive Inks™, Snowflakes Thin Cuts (no longer available), Shimmer Brush, Woodland Wishes Thin Cuts Bundle, Confetti Stars Embossing Folder, Make It from Your Heart™ Volume 1, Trimmer, Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors, Versamat™, Bone Folder, Spritz, Scrubber, Very Merry stampset, 3L® E-Z Dots® Adhesive.

I'd love it if you'd leave a comment before hopping along to the fabulous Leah Cameron’s Corner! Share the love and pin my projects!

City Sidewalks Blog Hop

Welcome to the City Sidewalks blog hop!
If you landed here from Doris, you're in the right spot. If not, hop along anyway!

City Sidewalks is a gorgeous fresh Christmas-themed paper packet from Holiday Expressions 2016. The collection centers around these 6 colors: Black, Cranberry, Lagoon, Peacock, White Daisy, and Willow.

The paper packet features several lovely Christmas designs. On top of each sheet of paper is a half inch strip of paper ribbon we call a "zipstrip". One side is patterned to complement the various papers in the packet while the other side lists the featured colors and paper packet name. Pretty neat, right?

I had piles of zipstrips lying around after I created some other projects with my City Sidewalks paper packet. I saw an idea using our new heart thin cuts and I decided to make this card. I cut out the largest heart thin cut from a 3.5" strip of White Daisy cardstock and set aside the hearts. I trimmed down some zipstrips to 3.5" long, put adhesive on the backside of the heart and stuck my zipstrips in place. I stamped joy, added some bling, cleaned up the ends of the strips, and attached to a piece of Cranberry cardstock before centering on a white card base. A few bits of bling finished it off nicely!

I also had plenty of Picture My Life cards to use. I fiddled a bit and created this card. It is SUPER simple. I cut the Picture My Life cards apart and used this cute doggy card, backed it with gold glitter paper, stuck down to my white card base, and accent with some thin cut hearts. Super quick and cute!

To make these projects, you'll need the following materials. Click through the links to purchase or contact your consultant. Products used: City Sidewalks Paper Packet, White Daisy Cranberry and Willow Cardstocks, Gold Glitter Paper, White Card Value Pack, 2" × 2" My Acrylix® Block, Sapphire Exclusive Ink™, Clear Sparkles, Hearts Thin Cuts, Trimmer, Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors, Versamat™, Bone Folder, Spritz, Scrubber, Mini Joy stampset, 3L® E-Z Dots® Adhesive.

I'd love it if you'd leave a comment before hopping along to the fabulous Georgia!

The Long Way Home Blog Hop

It's June! Time for another blog hop. ;) Welcome to the June stamp of the month hop!
If you've arrived here from Tanya's Happy Papercrafting you're in the right place. This is a circular hop so follow along and be inspired!

When I saw this stampset in Seasonal Expressions 2, I had to have it. I have HEAPS of travel photos I'm currently working on and this is PERFECT!
I traveled to Seattle and Minnesota in April to surprise my Gramma for her 90th birthday party. Mom and I visited MANY a Starbucks along the way. Girls only road trip = lots of caffeine! I used the SoTM to create these five PML cards for my layout.

I started by cutting one 12x12 sheet of White Daisy cardstock down to 3x4 and 4x6 cards using my trimmer. After rounding the corners, I went to town stamping the various images in a ton of inks! I used other stamps in my stash to accent this stamp of the month.

This card doesn't use the stamp of the month. It uses heaps of stamps from my stash and complements the rest of the layout perfectly. :) Mix your stampsets! I mixed a team building set with a snowflake and etched alphabet to create this one.

I had two empty spaces on this layout and decided to fill both with my own cards. I stamped the car in slate and the exhaust in black on one card before stamping scenic route in sapphire on both cards.
I simply stuck both cards together and stamped at once, then rounded the edges. Pretty easy huh?
I stamped the coffee cup with archival black ink before coloring it in with watercolor pencils. I waterbrushed it until I was happy with the color before fussy cutting.
I colored and brushed yellow and green on my card before stamping the rest. When dry, I stuck the cup down.

For this page I decided to stamp only, no watercoloring or waterbrushing. "Minnesota in April is an ugly time of year" says my mom. It's gray and icky and quite bland. This page needs color!
I mixed an older stampset (Year Noted) with Long Way Home to create both cards. For this one, I stamped the fuel pump in topiary and fussy cut before sticking on top of my stamped purple van. The dotted lines added just the right touch to make journaling easy.

I used a bunch of inks to create my last card for this layout. This card screamed out for some color! I stamped the title first, then the <3 it here (the red heart is stamped and fussy cut), before adding the banner and lines. Pretty simple and didn't take very long to do = two thumbs up in my book.

There you have it, some stamped 3x4 and 4x6 cards that perfectly accent and enhance my pages. Give it a go and try creating your own title/journaling cards!

To make these projects, you'll need the following materials. Click through the links or contact your consultant to purchase. :) The Long Way Home June SoTM, Treats of Friendship and Etched Alphabet stampsets, White Daisy Exclusive Cardstock, Cranberry Sapphire Topiary Honey Smoothie Smokey Plum Crystal Blue Slate Black and Archival Black Exclusive Inks, Memory Protectors™ Designs 4 & 5, 2 x 3 1/2 and 3x3 My Acrylix® Blocks, Spritz, Scrubber, Versamat™, Non-stick Micro-tip Scissors, SureCut™ Deluxe Craft Paper Trimmer, 3L® E-Z Dots® Adhesive, Corner Rounder, Watercolor Pencils, Small Round and Medium Round Waterbrushes.

I'd love it if you'd leave a comment before hopping over to Lauren Moore's CTMH Craftings!

Pocket Scrapbooking

Pocket scrapbooking is all the rage these days. You'll see it in stores, on blogs, instagram, pinterest, and in my own albums.

You may be wondering "what is it?" Put simply, pocket scrapbooking is a simple style/method of scrapbooking. You have an album, a couple sets of pocket pages, a kit of pocket cards, and photos. You put the pages in the album, then your photos in the pages, and finish off with some pocket cards and journaling.
That's it! Scrapbooking. Simple. Quick. Streamlined. Easy. You can do it! Of course, if you want to embellish your cards, you can. Stickers, shimmer trim, twine, sequins, you name it.

There's multiple sizes of pocket pages and albums with Close to my Heart. The main size is 12x12 pages with a handful of page designs (featuring 3x4 and 4x6 pockets). This size is best for doing full albums for any theme, or mixing with traditional pages within an album (which is what I do).
These pages come from the Memory Protector Variety Pack.

There's also 4x4, 4x6 and 6x8 designs! These are better for smaller projects or gifts. Think birthday parties, thank you gifts for bridal party members or parents, brag books, making into recipe books, etc. They're also good for business people looking to store their samples of fabric, nail wraps (like Jamberry), or other goods. The list is endless!

One of my sister consultants out in WA uses the 4x4 Instalife album and pages to store alongside her essential oils. What a clever use for a small album, right?

This 4x6 My Creations™ Mini Book was turned into a Christmas gift for my husband featuring pictures of a Lego exhibition he was presenting at. (You can see the entire project here.) I tucked a Lego gift card in the back before wrapping it up.

My Creations™ Black Mini Book
These little wirebound hardcover books are not expandable in the traditional sense (you can't add pages). What you CAN do is add a variety of Flip Flaps to expand the capacity!

The newest size is 6x8. The Everyday Life album cover and pocket pages feature everything you love about pocket scrapping in a nice portable size. I've added a few pocket pages to my planner to hold treasured photos. You can also turn it into a photo album on its own! Simply purchase an album cover, 4x6 and/or 3x4 pocket pages, a Picture My Life card kit and you're ready to go to town!

4x6 pocket pages
4x6 and 3x4 pocket pages. I store some planner stickers in my 4x6 pocket.
3x4 pocket pages.

Love the idea of pocket scrapbooking? Never tried it and want to see it in person? Want to meet new friends? Come along and enjoy a fun morning in my studio! I'll be showing all the different Picture My Life options and you get to take some home!

Bookings are essential, and close 7pm March 5th.
