Papercrafting for 2018

Good afternoon my lovelies! For those of you in SEQld that love your off the page papercrafting, I have a few exciting workshops coming up!

December's featured project is our stunning 2018 Through The Year Calendar. This projects combines a bit of stamping with 2 different stampsets that can be used on any project, especially useful for my pocket scrappers. It also uses our beautiful fundamentals range of double sided patterned paper, plus gold glitter die cut accents for added sparkle. (More sparkle never hurts, right?) Highlight each month with your choice of photos and when the month is over, use it for a stunning title page in your scrapbook album or frame it as home decor.

This workshop is run twice, once on December 9 and again on December 29. If you'd like to make an extra calendar or two, let me know at time of booking. They make great gifts!

January's featured project is elegant rose gold monogram home decor. It's similar in feel to our Welcome Home Wreath kit from earlier this year. Your choice of letter (A-Z plus &) includes a sturdy chipboard letter base, die cut overlay and flower pieces, sticker sheet, and full color instructions. For added dimension, you can accent your piece with ink daubing, shimmer brushes, or other embellishments you may have in your stash. Have an important function, anniversary, engagement, baby or bridal shower, or reunion coming up? Why not surprise the person of honor with their very own monogram?

This workshop is also run twice, once on January 20 and again on January 21. If you'd like to make letters, let me know at time of booking. They also make great gifts!

For those unable to attend my workshops in person, the Through The Year calendar kit will be available for purchase from December 1 and Love Letters from January 1. Watch my upcoming monthly newsletters for more details and necessary tools required for easy assembly of these projects.

Pocket Scrapbooking

Pocket scrapbooking is all the rage these days. You'll see it in stores, on blogs, instagram, pinterest, and in my own albums.

You may be wondering "what is it?" Put simply, pocket scrapbooking is a simple style/method of scrapbooking. You have an album, a couple sets of pocket pages, a kit of pocket cards, and photos. You put the pages in the album, then your photos in the pages, and finish off with some pocket cards and journaling.

This is the 12x12 Lagoon Chevron D-Ring Album, Memory Protector Pages, and the Love Your Selfie Card Kit.

That's it! Scrapbooking. Simple. Quick. Streamlined. Easy. You can do it! Of course, if you want to embellish your cards, you can. Stickers, shimmer trim, twine, sequins, you name it.

There's multiple sizes of pocket pages and albums with Close to my Heart. The main size is 12x12 pages with a handful of page designs (featuring 3x4 and 4x6 pockets). This size is best for doing full albums for any theme, or mixing with traditional pages within an album (which is what I do).

These pages come from the Memory Protector Variety Pack.

There's also 4x4, 4x6 and 6x8 designs! These are better for smaller projects or gifts. Think birthday parties, thank you gifts for bridal party members or parents, brag books, making into recipe books, etc. They're also good for business people looking to store their samples of fabric, nail wraps (like Jamberry), or other goods. The list is endless!

One of my sister consultants out in WA uses the 4x4 Instalife album and pages to store alongside her essential oils. What a clever use for a small album, right?

This 4x6 My Creations™ Mini Book was turned into a Christmas gift for my husband featuring pictures of a Lego exhibition he was presenting at. (You can see the entire project here.) I tucked a Lego gift card in the back before wrapping it up.

These little wirebound hardcover books are not expandable in the traditional sense (you can't add pages). What you CAN do is add a variety of Flip Flaps to expand the capacity!

The newest size is 6x8. The Everyday Life album cover and pocket pages feature everything you love about pocket scrapping in a nice portable size. I've added a few pocket pages to my planner to hold treasured photos. You can also turn it into a photo album on its own! Important notice Regarding Studio J®:
 
Ever since launching Studio J® in 2009 we have been proud to offer a unique and versatile approach to digital scrapbooking. We are pleased with the product we created, and have invested considerable amounts of time, effort, and money over the years to make it the most useful tool it could be.

At the same time, the past few years have seen an industry-wide shift away from digital scrapbooking, which has caused many companies to discontinue their digital services. Across the board, these services carry a high price tag, and with fewer and fewer people interested in this type of memory keeping, services like Studio J have become impractical to maintain. For some time now, Studio J sales have made up a little more than 1% of total sales, which simply does not justify what it costs to keep it up and continue developing it. As a result, we have determined that the time has come to discontinue our Studio J service.

In order to allow you time to order any layouts you may have started or planned on creating, Studio J will be available through 30 April, or until our current supplies of photo paper are exhausted. We will not be adding any new content to Studio J between now and when it is retired. Be aware that with the potential for a higher volume of users, especially as we near the end of April, there is a higher likelihood of encountering technical difficulties while working in Studio J. We encourage you to place your orders early in order to avoid these situations.

Though it has not been an easy decision to make, and we know that many of you will be disappointed by this news, we are confident that discontinuing Studio J is the best decision to make. This change will allow us to focus more fully on who we are and what we do best.
