This month's theme is Seaside. I opened up my Seaside Paper Packet, my Reflections how to book, and my Seaside Picture My Life card decks Monday night to see what I could come up with. This is the results!

I made two double page layouts from one paper packet and 10 Picture My Life cards. No stamping whatsoever! I didn't have any of the Seaside Complements stickers to use for embellishments, so I decided to see what I could use from my Picture My Life cards. I'm very happy with how this turned out. Very quick, super easy, just a bit of cutting and sticking, plus a few corners rounded, banner tabs made, and some edges inked. That's it!


This is the first of the two layouts that I made. The design is from Reflections, patterns 4c & 8i. I used the zipstrips from 2 pieces of Seaside paper. One I used on the left page under the spots, the other I cut apart, mounted on scrap colonial white paper, inked the edges, and used as flags. There's 4 3x4 PML cards used on this layout too. So gorgeous!

This is the second layout I made. The design is Reflections patterns 4b & 7f. I used 6 PML cards between the pages and layered them. A few edges were rounded and also inked.

It really is so easy to create lovely works of art like these in minutes. The papers match the inks match the PML cards. The instructions were super simple to follow and understand. I squeezed a lot of art out of one packet of paper, and NO STAMPING NECESSARY!

Scrapping My Stash

As you all know, two weeks ago I became an Australian citizen... and that means I've got pages to do. So far, I'm up to 14 pages. Yes, 14. This is nothing for an event. For my wedding day, I have 2 full 12x12 strap-bound albums, like bursting at the seams full. It's crazy.

For all the layouts, I've used designs found in the Reflections how to book. I've used assorted colors of cardstock for the base of each page, the Sarita range (about 2 paper packs plus lots of scraps from my Sarita WOTG kit, and assorted complements), the Surecut™ Deluxe Craft Paper Trimmer, and both bonding memories glue pens (glue and pen). All stamping and journaling are still to come. I wanted to get these pages cut and stuck down first.

Pardon the poor quality pictures, I took these last night just before I went to bed. I'll re-shoot soon.

How good does this look?! So simple and so easy. The hardest part was choosing which layouts I wanted to use with which photos! I absolutely love Sarita and it's retiring. You'll see that I rotated both pages just a bit.. It adds a bit more interest than plain straight on like the instructions show.

National Scrapbook Day - Details

In case you missed it, yesterday was my repeat National Scrapbook Day event. One lady came and we had a great time. That tends to happen when you have a couple cuppas, beautiful papers, and lots of stamping inspiration! We made 2 pages each in 7 hours and loved it. When you're distracted by another cuppa or a funny story, it makes the day all the more fun. My customer loved the sunburst (I shared the youtube tutorial where I learned the technique), as well as a crash course in scrapbooking and stamping the Close To My Heart way. I enjoyed having someone else to bounce ideas off of and to share what I love doing! I had a yummy dinner planned, which we never got round to as my lady has allergies that I wasn't prepared to cater for. (Oh well, I'll know for next time!)

Ivy Lane part 2

I. love. this. kit.

The colors. The paper patterns. The ease of cutting and assembling. The finished results. Have a look!

This is how I interpreted them.

Tada! Note how the instructions state where to put Cricut cut stamped images. Note the lack of Cricut cut stamped images on my layout. You don't *need* to have a Cricut to do these WOTG kits.

This is the second layout mentioned in the instructions. (You'll need the Reflections book for the layout cutting and assembly directions.)

Isn't it lovely? I've not planned which photos I want to use here yet so I've left the stamping and further embellishing for the moment.

After I finished these two layouts, I had a heap of leftover paper scraps and strips. I decided to use them to make the current April bonus challenge layout. I added two sheets of Bamboo cardstock to use for the bases, everything else was leftover from the 2 above layouts.

You really do get a lot out of this kit. 6 12x12 traditional pages so far.

I'm stunned at how much I've still got leftover! A full sheet of White Daisy cardstock, a mostly full sheet of Ivy Lane Green cardstock, varying strips and scraps of the B&T papers. Plenty of scraps left to make some cards. What else can I make from this pile?

I'm thinking some cards are in order. Stay tuned...

My Reflections

I've been playing with the ideas and recipes in the My Reflections how-to book since Monday's Consultant Fun Day. When I initially opened my consultant kit and thumbed through the book, I wasn't too keen on it. I like to freehand my pages!

Well, I am eating my words as I have now done four pages based on recipes in this book and I LOVE IT!

This is my most recent page creation using recipe 4e "Main Frame - Charmed" on page 56.

I've used the Sarita WOTG scrapbooking kit to make this. I haven't stuck it all down yet, nor added any embellishments or picked out a photo. That's to come. ;)

These recipes are such a fabulous foundation for creating pages quickly and perfect for when you don't feel very artistic.
