Card Challenge

I follow quite a few different Close To My Heart consultant/artwork/networking groups on facebook. One of them has frequent posts for card challenges. I decided to bite the bullet and jump in on one for a change!

Here's the challenge sketch I worked from.

I didn't really know what I'd make with this sketch. I fiddled with a couple different pieces until I was happy. This is what I came up with! This is a sneaky peek of brand new products coming in December so shhhhh!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

I love Christmas time. My birthday is 2 days before hand so it always feels like everything is getting pretty and special and decorated all month just for me. ;)

My consultant team here in Queensland is doing a 4 week Christmas Craft Challenge in our fb group. I've made a couple different entries and lucky you, you get a sneak peek! PLUS, these are available to make in my workshops or purchase outright! Only the Advent Calendar is unavailable to purchase outright, that's a workshop only project.

A "sneak peek" of some new Close To My Heart goodies coming 1st August.

Latest creations

Good evening lovelies,

I've been delving into the Originals cardmaking how-to book this week and I'm loving it. If you follow me on instagram or Twitter, you'll have seen these. For those of you that aren't yet following me on social media, here's what I've been up to. :)

These are two of the many how-to books from Close to my Heart. Very much worth the $20 price tag each!

The first of my limited edition 5 card sets, "Sarita Sentiments". This set of five handmade and hand stamped cards is $10. I have four sets available for purchase.

The start of my second limited edition set, "Laughing Lola Sentiments". Keep an eye out for the rest of the series!

Did you know that I sell my cards, and possibly some premade pages? I do! My cards for sale are listed under two albums on my Facebook page. Prices range from $2.50 up to $5.00 for a custom order. Need a special card for an occasion and don't see one in my shop that fits? Contact me for a custom order quote. My most recent custom order went down fantastically with the orderer and recipient! Like the cards I have on offer and want to make them yourself? Come to my cardmaking workshops! Learn the techniques I use with stamping, layout, design and assembly. It's a fun afternoon of creating and getting inky!

New for 2014

Morning everyone! I'm finalizing my workshop dates for the next couple months. But first a bit of housekeeping.

Here's the details on how I'm running things this year.

-Workshop on the Go scrapbooking kit crops are the 3rd Wednesday *night* of each month from 7-10pm here in my studio.

-Cardmaking crops are the 3rd Friday *afternoon* of each month from 1-3pm here in my studio.

-Studio events are limited to 5 people each.
That's all the space I have in my studio currently. Don't worry, I will offer a second event if more than 5 people book in.

-All bookings must be paid for (by direct deposit) in advance.
This is for planning and catering purposes. Payment and location details will be given at time of booking. Bookings are not confirmed until payment has been made. I'll confirm your booking via email.

-You must must must pre-order your workshop kits.
Full payment is required at time of pre-ordering. Order cutoff dates will be announced well in advance. It can take up to 3 weeks for supplies to arrive from the California warehouse! Once the cut off date has passed, all fully paid kits will be ordered and notifications will be emailed out to you.

-I highly recommend that you bring a tool kit to each of my events.
This consists of scissors, a 12" paper trimmer, adhesive of choice, stamping blocks and stamp cleaner. These can be added to your workshop kits and ordered in for you. (I will have these supplies available for newbies.)

-Joint group events run with other Consultants have different booking and space requirements. These will be posted as soon as I have them.

NEW for 2014. For every Scrapbooking, Cardmaking, and Cropalong you attend in my studio you'll receive a ticket into a special drawing. Winners will be drawn on our big joint crop on National Scrapbooking Day - May 17th. You must be present to win. There are some fantastic prizes up for grabs!

My full event schedule will be posted in the morning. I'm up waaaay past my bedtime!

Project Sneak Peek

Yesterday at our Brisbane Consultant Fun Day, I made this little paper album for our mates who got married on the 4th.

It's 20 pages long, 6"x7" in size, and cut by hand. No Cricut machine required! I used a mix of old and new supplies to make it.

For Always paper packet, For Always WOTG stamp set, assorted blocks, black and sorbet inks, mini sparkles, pink glitter gems, sorbet cardstock, stamp scrubber, stamp spritz, glamour lowercase alphabet stamp set, sparkle flourishes, Chantilly WOTG stamp set, Slate washi tape, and For Always my stickease.

The bride and groom haven't seen the entire book yet so here's a quick sneaky peek. I'll post the whole album after they've seen it.

I did this project as a once off to use my instagram photos. This could *easily* be adapted to fit one of our My Creations™ Kraft 3-Ring Albums. Use those instagram photos ladies!

It's January 1st, 2014 and that means the new full range Ideas Books from Close To My Heart are launching February 1st!

Oh. My. Word. I got my hands on a preview copy yesterday and it is stunning! New paper packets, new WOTG kits, new stamp sets, new embellishments, new washi tape (!), so much gorgeous new stuff to play with!

Packaging, packaging, packaging.

All's quiet on the blogger front lately here but not for long!

I've been in cardmaking over drive lately in getting ready for a market stall on the 23rd. Mum picked up the first batch of cards today.

After she left I packaged up these little puppies. The winter and Christmas pile I made last night. 21 cards. I was up til 3 crafting away as it was too flippin hot to sleep.

November 23 is the market day.

All my cards at this point are a mix of old stock (cm) and new stock (ctmh) and priced as marked. Once my old stock runs out, all my cards will be exclusively CTMH products. One of the great things about CTMH is that all their current products blend SO WELL with my stock on hand! :D :D :D *happycrafter*

Card prices range from $2.50-$5.00 depending on the materials and time involved. Most are $2.50-3.50 though, which I think is quite reasonable compared to mass produced cards in shops these days. They all come with an envelope too, even the 4"x4" cards. Kinda silly not to include an envelope... And now, feast your eyes on these beauties. :) Click to embiggen.
